Once upon a time in ancient times, Gargantua the Giant sat down on Mont Ventoux for a moment to remove a nasty stone stuck inside his boot and causing him terrible pain. Here precisely, Pierrelatte was born. A rock in the middle of a vast plain, a small stone fallen out of the Giant’s boot. To reach back into our history, follow in the giant’s footsteps and explore the old town. Keep an eye
out for the gargoyles and listen to the old stone of our heritage buildings whispering stories of the past
Description
Legend has it that Gargantua sat down on Mont Ventoux, or according to some, on the Dent de Rez, to remove a pebble from his boot, which became the famous Pierrelatte rock, long used as a quarry and now a venue for events.
