Le Moulin

Provencal-style windmill. In 2011, a project to restore the mill by the municipality, with the help of the association "Les Ailes du Moulin", led to its renovation and the addition of wings.

Description

The original Moulin was built around 1839 on land belonging to Jean-François Pellegrin, a baker. The Rocher de Pierrelatte, from which the building materials undoubtedly came, may have played a role in the siting of the mill, helping to deflect the mistral wind.
Despite the resources invested in its construction, the Pierrelatte mill remained in operation for only a few decades, between 1839 and 1880.
The mill's location on the plain makes it quite unusual.
The town's municipal archives have installed an exhibition on the first floor of the mill.
The mill is an indissociable part of the pierrelattin landscape and heritage. Discovering it and watching its wings turn is a magical moment for young and old alike.
