Description
In the Drôme Provençale, between Montélimar and Orange, near borders of 3 other departments: the Vaucluse, Gard and Ardèche. La Garde-Adhémar is a charming, unspoilt medieval village which seems unchanged by time. Standing on a rocky spur, the village overlooks the Rhône valley with wonderful panoramic views. This 12th century fiefdom of the Adhémar family has retained much of its medieval past: narrow streets, cobbled alleyways, remains of a castle and ramparts. If you fancy a cool and fragrant walk the charming Jardin des Herbes is full of aromatic & medicinal plants. Many tourist attractions nearby, lots of tempting local produce. Easy access: 15 min. from exit 18 (Montélimar-sud) and exit 19 (Bollène) off A7 motorway.
La Ferme des Rosières gîte is 3km from village, on working farm (poultry, vegetables). Detached holiday cottage surrounded by vineyards and lavender fields. Lovely peaceful setting. All accommodation on ground floor: kitchen, storeroom, living room with lounge area, 3 bedrooms (double bed) (double bed) (2 single beds), bathroom, WC. 2 terraces. Swimming pool shared with owners and occupants of guest rooms (B&B).
